Laundry Room Organization
65Doing the laundry is not a very difficult job; you segregate the clothes, drop it in the washing machine, dry it then fold. Doing it in a dirty and unorganized laundry room, though, is another story. It’s highly uncomfortable doing the laundry around stacks of clothes, detergent all over the floor and a lot of unnecessary things that shouldn’t be in the laundry room at all. The laundry room should also be loved; the same with all the rooms in your house, and that is why you need to organize it fast!
Laundry Room Organization is actually fun to do, plus it will give you an opportunity to add a décor here and there, making the room a lot prettier.
It's All About Maximizing Space
One of the first things that you need to work on a laundry room is its efficiency. A laundry room is still a workplace after all, and just the same with your office, you’d want tools that would make work as easy as possible. If you have enough space for it, installing cabinets in the room is a good idea. You can keep your detergents and soaps here and probably your hampers too! I always have the idea that clean is seeing less things as much as possible, and that is why keeping everything inside a cabinet appeal to me. You can also have shelves installed; these are great for holding clean towels or comforters that may not fit into any other places. Also, having counters that is level with your waist or lower chest is a good place for folding clothes. These easy to reach surface is perfect for folding clothes without hurting your arm or your back.
Use Additional Storage Options
If your laundry room is too small for cabinets, then you can have a big box for your laundry needs instead. Choose boxes that are pretty looking so it can also qualify as a décor as well. There are a lot of pretty and functional baskets for sale so you might want to take a look at them.
You should definitely put drying racks inside your laundry room since these are much needed for clothes that needs to be air-dry. You can have these placed on one corner of the room, away from everything else so as not to add to the clutter.
Don't Forget The Little Things
You’d also want to put a waste basket inside your laundry room. You never know when you have to throw some trash away, so it’s always better to be ready. You’d also want to put a little clear bowl or plastic storage box in your laundry room for things that gets forgotten in pockets such as coins, pens and stuffs. Just don’t forget to give these items to the owner after your laundry session so they won’t fill up the bowl.
I hope these tips would be able to help you get your laundry and home organizing. I’m sure you have your own ideas as well, so don’t be afraid to use them for a cleaner, more peaceful and better looking laundry room.
